Chocolate Peanut Butter Rice Crispy Treats (No Bake)

June 6, 2018 By Adell 4 Comments

No bake chocolate peanut butter rice crispy bars are the perfect summer treat. In 5 minutes you can have a crispy chocolate peanut butter treat and not have to heat up your oven! Butter, chocolate chips, peanut butter & marshmallows melt together over the stove, add Rice Krispie cereal, give it a good stir, press in a pan and you’re done!

We are in California this week with my husband’s family. A week at the beach with family and good food is pretty much the best thing ever. Also, it was nice to get out-of-town when the temperature was starting to get pretty hot back home. Even though packing for 5 people and driving for hours in the car is a lot of work, I am always so glad when we can get away and make lasting memories. My kids are water babies. They LOVE the water. Even though the water is freezing, they have had a blast playing in the water and sand.

Lets talk about these bars. If you know me then you know I just love chocolate. But I also love a good, chewy rice crispy treat as well! So when you add in chocolate and peanut butter to the classic rice crispy treat ?! Hello delicious. It’s like a Reeses flavored rice crispy treat. What could be better?

Summer time is always a great time for a NO BAKE treat. I mean, I’m still not opposed to heating up my oven once in a while for some chocolate chip cookies but when the digits start rising above 110 degrees that’s the last thing I wanna do.

Another great thing about this recipe is that it’s a kid favorite and they could basically make it themselves. I supervised my 6 year old since it requires the stove top.

You really could use any flavor chocolate chips in this recipe. I used semi-sweet, and it was great. Not overly sweet. But I am dying to try this with white chocolate chips because peanut butter and white chocolate together are like my favorite thing ever! Such a yummy combo. Have you tried these white chocolate peanut butter cups yet?

The ingredients for these bars are simple and they come together in like 5 minutes. You can eat them warm or wait for them to cool. They will cut a lot easier if you wait. Either way, you will love these crispy bars!
