Teriyaki Lettuce Wraps

November 8, 2013 By Adell 2 Comments

An easy, healthy meal for those nights when you need something fast!

I found this recipe on Picky Palate. She posted it years ago, I am so glad that I found it. Such a great one.
This dinner comes together so fast. Serve it with a side of rice if you want to. My husband loves rice pilaf so thats what we had. My kids both loved this meal. It was great for lunch the next day too.
So, if you are looking for something healthy and quick to make, try this! It’s really tasty. I love a dinner that doesn’t take hours in the kitchen.

Ingredients:

2 T. extra virgin olive oil
1 cup chopped onion
1 pound ground turkey
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
1 (12 ounce) bag broccoli slaw
1/2 cup teriyaki sauce
1 tsp. toasted sesame oil
15 butter lettuce leaves

Directions:

Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook for 5 minutes or until soft.
Add ground turkey, salt, pepper and garlic salt. Cook until brown. Crumble the meat as you cook it. When the turkey is cooked, stir in the broccoli slaw, teriyaki sauce and sesame oil.
Cook for about 10 to 15 minutes or until it is heated through.
Let it simmer until ready to serve.
Spoon mixture into washed and dried lettuce leaves.
Notes: You can use regular sesame oil if you prefer.
