Loaded with white chocolate and a punch of orange flavor.
Who loves a good orange creamsicle? These cookies taste just like you are biting into that favorite childhood popsicle. The perfect cookie to add to your holiday baking lineup. I love the flavor of orange. I also love white chocolate so these cookies are at the top of my list! They practically melt in your mouth. I was asked to bring a couple dozen of my favorite Christmas cookies to our Young Women progressive dinner and these were the first ones that came to mind.
Growing up, during winter time, every Sunday night we would all gather at my grandparents house and eat fresh oranges while visiting with family. My grandpa and grandma have a citrus orchard in their backyard. During citrus season we can always count on grandpa bringing us by bags of his grapefruit, oranges etc. He still has people he sells and delivers to. I can’t wait till I can plant citrus trees in my backyard too!

- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon grated orange rind
- 2 teaspoons orange extract

- Mix together the softened butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add the egg, orange rind and orange extract.
- In a separate bowl, blend the flour, baking soda and salt. Slowly add the flour mixture to the sugar mixture just until blended.
- Stir in the white chocolate chips. Drop tablespoon sized balls onto prepared cookie sheets.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
- Cool for a few minutes on baking sheet before moving to a cooling rack.
Notes
One large orange should give you a T. of orange rind. If you prefer, you can do 1 tsp. vanilla extract & 1 tsp. orange extract. I prefer the strong orange flavor so I do 2 tsp. orange extract.
