12 ounces vanilla flavored almond bark or white melting chocolate
½ cup crushed candy canes (1/2 of a 6 ounce box)
1 cup powdered (confectioners') sugar
FOR THE DARK CHOCOLATE MUDDY BUDDIES:
5 cups rice chex cereal
12 ounces chocolate flavored almond bark or melting chocolate
½ cup crushed candy canes (1/2 of a 6 ounce box)
½ cup powdered (confectioners') sugar
½ cup cocoa powder
Instructions
FOR THE WHITE CHOCOLATE MUDDY BUDDIES:
In a large bowl, pour 5 cups rice chex cereal. Set aside. In a large zipped top bag add the 1 cup of powdered sugar and set aside.
Melt the vanilla flavored almond bark according to the package directions. Once it's melted, pour it over the cereal and gently stir until cereal is covered. Add the crushed candy canes and stir until evenly distributed.
Immediately pour the cereal mixture into the prepared zipped top bag. Gently shake and turn the bag until the cereal is all coated.
Remove the mixture from the bag and discard leftover powder.
FOR THE DARK CHOCOLATE MUDDY BUDDIES:
In a large bowl, add 5 cups rice chex cereal. Set aside. In a large zipped top bag add the ½ cup powdered sugar and ½ cup cocoa powder.
Melt the chocolate flavored almond bark. Once it's melted, pour it over the cereal and gently stir until cereal is covered. Add the crushed candy canes and stir until evenly distributed.
Immediately pour the cereal mixture into the prepared zipped top bag. Gently shake and turn the bag until the cereal is all coated.
Remove the mixture from the bag and discard leftover powder.
You can mix the two flavors together or serve them side by side.
Notes
NOTES: I got 1 cup of crushed candy canes from one 6 ounce package. I used a food processor to crush the candy canes.
